For science tutors

Tutor science online.
Equations, molecules and simulations on one board.

Type 2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O and it goes on the board as an equation, saying whether it balances. Build molecules, label diagrams and run a pendulum where every student can see, then watch their answers come in.

Try it: the Classroom during a science lesson, as you would see it.

Everyone's writing, as they write it. Open a student's to comment beside it or write with them.

How a science lesson goes

  1. Show itRun a simulation on the board, a projectile, a pendulum, waves or a circuit, with sliders the class can change.
  2. They label and explainStudents label a diagram on their own board or write their explanation, and you see everyone's as they work.
  3. Check the workingFormulas for physics and chemistry, and equations the board checks for balance, atom by atom and charge.
  4. ReviseQuizzes marked as students answer, and the questions they missed come back as revision until they stick.

What science tutors use

  • Chemical equationsTyped plainly, drawn properly, and checked: whether they balance and what differs. Ionic and half-equations too.
  • MoleculesFourteen ready-made structures, or build one atom by atom and bond by bond; the formula is worked out for you.
  • The periodic tableAll 118 elements, coloured by kind, with relative atomic masses; or blank, for students to fill in.
  • Lab equipmentA beaker, a conical flask, a Bunsen burner and more, as outlines to draw a practical's set-up.
  • SimulationsA projectile, a pendulum, waves, a series circuit and sampling, with sliders, for students to explore on the board.
  • Exam topicsGCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science, A level and IB, by exam board and tier.

Questions science tutors ask

Does it work for physics?
Yes. Physics groups get formulas with units, graphs, vectors and forces, and the simulations; chemistry and biology groups get their own tools first.
Can students draw and label diagrams?
Yes, on their own board, or as a question where they label a picture or draw their answer, which comes to you to mark.
Do my students need to install anything?
No. SKRM Learn runs in an up-to-date browser on computers, Chromebooks and iPads. Students join your group with a class code.
Is it free?
Yes. The Free plan has 2 groups of up to 10 students and 3 one-to-one students, for as long as you like. Pro adds video calls, parents' pages, payments and more of everything.
