For maths tutors

Tutor maths online.
See every line of working.

Each student works on their own whiteboard and you watch them all at once, so you see the step where it goes wrong, not only the wrong answer. Formulas, graphs and geometry are on the board; questions are marked as students answer.

Try it: the Classroom during a maths lesson, as you would see it.

On the boardLesson 1: solving equations

Everyone's working, on their own board, as they write it. Two have gone wrong: open a student's board to mark where.

How a maths lesson goes

  1. Explain on your boardWork an example on a board the whole class watches: type formulas as they read, draw a graph and move its sliders.
  2. Send them a questionEvery student gets their own copy of the board, and you see everyone's working as they write it.
  3. Step in where it goes wrongOpen a student's board and mark the line in red, or comment beside it. They see it at once.
  4. Carry it on at homeSet homework or a quiz. Number answers are marked as students answer, and questions they missed come back as revision.

What maths tutors use

  • FormulasType a formula as it reads and it appears as maths: on boards, in documents and in questions.
  • Graphs with slidersPut a letter in a function and the graph gets a slider for it, so students see what each number does. 3D graphs for further maths.
  • GeometryA ruler, a protractor and a compass that measure as they draw, on a squared grid in centimetres.
  • Your own worksheetsUpload a PDF and its pages go on a board, for each student to write on their own copy.
  • Questions marked for youNumbers, multiple choice and correct the mistakes are marked as students answer, naming the usual mistake behind a wrong one for you. Drawn answers come to you.
  • Exam topicsGCSE, A level, IB, International GCSE and 11+ maths, topic by topic, to keep track of what each student has covered.

Questions maths tutors ask

Can students write maths without a pen?
Yes. They type a formula as it reads (x^2 becomes x²) or pick one from the formula toolbar. On a tablet, a finger or a stylus draws on the board too.
Can I teach one-to-one?
Yes. Each one-to-one student has a private space of their own, with their boards, homework and sessions; groups work the same way.
Do my students need to install anything?
No. SKRM Learn runs in an up-to-date browser on computers, Chromebooks and iPads. Students join your group with a class code.
Is it free?
Yes. The Free plan has 2 groups of up to 10 students and 3 one-to-one students, for as long as you like. Pro adds video calls, parents' pages, payments and more of everything.
